Privacy notes
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Bookworm School is used by children, so we collect as little as we can. This is what actually happens during the open preview.
No sign-up
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect a child's real name, phone number, email address or photo.
English names and progress stay on your device
The English name typed when joining a class, and the stars and progress, are stored only in this device's browser. They are never sent to us. Clearing the browser's site data deletes them.
Microphone and voice
Classes use the microphone when children speak. Speech recognition runs entirely inside the browser: the voice is not recorded or kept, and it is never uploaded to any server.
No ads, no tracking
The site has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub keeps ordinary visit logs (such as IP addresses) under its own privacy policy.
If anything changes
If we later add accounts, parent reports or paid plans that need more data, we will update these notes first and tell parents clearly what is collected and why.
